Bear River Birding

Up at 5am this morning to go with Jess on an Audubon trip to Bear River bird refuge. 24 people staring through scopes at a duck. We did see baby Pied-billed and Clark's Grebes riding on their parents' backs. Also saw my first Great Egret and Turkey Vulture. Had an 80 something WWII PBY pilot riding in my car on the tour. Nice guy, very quiet. Not my usual Saturday morning. It was like I was living a PBS show.
